Béjart et nous, L’Oiseau de Feu, Boléro by the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, Sunday, July 19, 2026, Théâtre Antique de Vienne
The Béjart Ballet Lausanne will be performing at the Théâtre Antique in Vienne on Sunday, July 19, 2026!
Béjart et nous is a journey through Maurice Béjart’s dance (and musical) repertoire, consisting of solos, pas de deux, and ensemble pieces from various ballets such as Wien, Wien, nur du Allein, La IXe Symphonie, Mozart-Tango, Brel et Barbara, etc. A sensitive artistic proposal by Julien Favreau, an immersion into the heart of the Master’s eclectic and abundant work, performed by the dancers of his current company.
L’Oiseau de Feu evokes the rebirth and splendor of the Phoenix, set to Igor Stravinsky’s powerful music. Through this work, Béjart highlights both the richness of Russian culture and a break with tradition, bringing a new vision to choreography.
Boléro is a spellbinding work that transcends time and borders. Immerse yourself in one of the most iconic masterpieces of the 20th century, the result of the encounter between Maurice Ravel’s hypnotic music and Maurice Béjart’s choreography. On stage, the central performer embodies an intense, repetitive dance, described by Béjart himself: “A melody — of Eastern rather than Spanish origin — winds tirelessly around itself, increasing in volume and intensity, devouring the sound space and eventually engulfing the melody”. This ballet symbolizes strength, passion, and unity, captivating the audience until the very last note. The Béjart Ballet Lausanne offers you the rare opportunity to rediscover this timeless gem, a performance that has fascinated and inspired generations of audiences around the world.
A choreographic triptych bringing together the major works of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, offering an opportunity to rediscover these legendary ballets created by Maurice Béjart.
